Dr. Kallal grew up down highway 14 in Tofield. Growing up he played hockey in and around the Wainwright area. He did his undergraduate studies at the UofA and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. During his studies, he developed a vast knowledge and a keen interest in the detection, treatment, and management of glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and cataracts; he was also actively involved in leading cutting-edge dry eye research.

Before joining Prairie Vision, Dr. Kallal practiced in Ponoka where he saw patients of all ages and worked closely with the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury, one of the leading brain injury rehabilitation hospitals in Western Canada. Dr. Kallal worked with patients who had complex vision issues after suffering various forms of brain injuries, including concussions, strokes, brain tumors, and severe traumatic brain injuries (TBIs).

Dr Kallal works part time at Prairie Vision while having practices in both Tofield and Edmonton. He enjoys being apart of our team and providing the best eyecare possible.
